Why Parents Love It
Genuine components, made approachable
Real LEDs, switches, sensors and buzzers are housed in sturdy, reusable modules. Clear labels and circuit symbols help children connect what they are building with how electronic circuits are represented.
Real Components
Genuine LEDs, switches, sensors and buzzers — the same kinds of parts used in real products.
Low-voltage design
Operates at 5 volts, with protection designed to reduce damage from common wiring mistakes.
Reusable
Build it, pull it apart, build something else — the modules can be rearranged and combined again and again.
Screen Free
No apps, no accounts, no screens. Just hands and parts.
How It Works
From box to blinking in minutes
There’s nothing to set up and nothing to download. Open the box and get building.
-
Choose a project
Pick a guided activity card or create your own idea. Start with a simple LED circuit, then explore switches, buzzers, sensors and more.
-
Connect the circuit
Find the modules shown in the diagram and connect them with the supplied leads. The printed circuit paths help children see how each component fits into the circuit.
-
Test and experiment
Power up the circuit and see what happens. Swap a component, add a switch or change the wiring to explore cause and effect through hands-on experimentation.
Our Modules
The building blocks
Each module is a real component in a tough, labelled case, and they all connect the same way. The kit comes with the lot — and down the track you’ll be able to buy modules on their own too.
-
Battery
Every circuit starts here — a safe 5V supply in a tough case.
-
LEDs
Red, green, yellow and blue. When an LED lights up, you know the circuit works.
-
Buttons
Illuminated red and green push buttons — press to close the circuit.
-
Toggle Switch
A proper flick switch for turning circuits on and off.
-
Dial
Turn it up, turn it down — the easiest way to get a feel for resistance.
-
PIR Sensor
Detects movement — use it in motion-triggered alarm projects.
-
Buzzers
Two kinds of buzzer, because circuits are better when they’re noisy.
-
Leads
Banana-lead patch cables that plug in easily and pull apart just as easily.
-
…and more to come
There’s always something new on the workbench. See what’s available on the products page.
Built for Learning
What kids actually get out of it
Hands-on building helps turn circuit diagrams into something children can see, test and change.
Electrical concepts
Voltage, current and resistance stop being textbook words once you’ve watched a dial dim a light.
Circuit diagrams
Every module displays its corresponding circuit symbol, helping children begin relating physical components to schematic diagrams.
Problem solving
When a circuit doesn’t work, there’s a reason. Finding it is half the fun.
Cause and effect
Press the button, hear the buzzer. Nothing teaches faster than instant results.
Experimentation
What happens if I swap this for that? Good question — try it.
STEM confidence
Once a kid has built a working alarm, technology stops being magic and starts being theirs.
FAQ
Questions parents ask
What age is BushieBoy suitable for?
We recommend ages 6 and up. Younger kids get a lot out of it with a parent at the table, and older kids grow more independent with it over time.
Is soldering required?
No. Everything connects with the supplied plug-in leads — no soldering and no tools required.
Is it safe for children?
The system operates at 5 volts and includes protection designed to reduce damage from common wiring mistakes. Adult supervision is recommended, particularly for younger children.
Can more kits or modules be added later?
Yes. Every module uses the same connectors, so anything we release later plugs straight into what you already have.
How many circuits can be built?
The included activity cards guide children through a range of projects. The reusable modules can then be rearranged, extended and combined to explore additional circuits and ideas.
Where can I buy the kit?
Right here on this site — card payments are handled securely by Stripe, with free shipping Australia-wide. The kit is also on our Etsy store if you’d rather buy through the Etsy marketplace. Either way it’s the same kit, made and posted by us in Brisbane.
Ready to build your first circuit?
One kit, everything included — power, lights, sound, sensors and all the leads. $369 AUD with free shipping Australia-wide.
